![February 2020 DEVASTATING DIAGNOSIS In tonight?s (17/2/20) Emmerdale, veterinarian Vanessa Woodfield played by actress Michelle Hardwick was revealed to have bowel cancer. Her worrying news was revealed to the viewers by Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather) who is currently holding her hostage. Sadly for Vanessa due to her current situation she is unable to share her devastating news with loved ones and at this time, hostage taker Pierce is the only other character aware of her diagnosis. This important storyline will play out on Emmerdale over the coming months as Vanessa comes to terms with her diagnosis, shares her symptoms, concerns and undergoes extensive treatment. There could be some bad news on the horizon for Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) as her odd and distant behaviour leads to some unsettling news in Emmerdale. But what is it? Has her cancer spread as her battle continues?
Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is confused when Vanessa evades her at the adoption hearing for Johnny and makes a hasty exit and while Charity thinks that Vanessa has fallen out of love with her, Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) rubbishes this thought.
While Charity drives herself mad with the prospect that Vanessa has found someone else, she drives off – but Tracy later gets a call with some news from Vanessa. But what does she share with her sister – and what will it mean for her future?
Speaking of futures, there seems to be an uncertain one for Vanessa and Charity as Charity ends up in a car collision with a stranger who soon offers her cash and then turns on the charm.
Despite her loyalty to Vanessa, a paranoid Charity reckons it’s already over for them and so enjoys flirting with the man, before she then makes the mistake of kissing him.
As Charity rushes off flustered, horrified at what she has done, what does this mean for her and Vanessa? And how will she react to what Vanessa has said to Tracy? Have Charity’s suspicions been grossly misplaced?
