Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) has only just stared down the barrel of another gun (it’s becoming the story of her life) held by gangster Mick, who is out to get revenge on thieving ex Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).

But this could just be the beginning of another new nightmare on Coronation Street as worse may be to come – when locals begin to believe that the notorious killer Pat Phelan (Coonor McIntyre) is back from the dead and haunting Weatherfield.

Is he really set to take revenge from beyond the grave?

Well, given it’s the fear of Mary Taylor (Patti Clare), we can probably surmise that Phelan is in fact a figment of her imagination. But that won’t stop her from taking drastic action just to clear her mind.

Convinced the noises coming from the attic are the ghost of Pat Phelan, Mary gets Billy to perform an exorcism. When Todd suddenly appears at the top of the stairs, Mary and Billy stare open mouthed.

Well, it’s a ghost from the past of sorts and since Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) has been convinced that Todd is no more, it’s still a big shock to the system!

As the commotion escalates and Billy rips shreds off Todd for letting Summer (Matilda Freeman) believe that he is dead, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) heads over and Todd seizes the opportunity to cause trouble between Paul and Billy. Billy assures Paul that he loves him with all his heart – Todd’s bad news and he’s well rid.

But Todd isn’t planning on going anywhere and soon has a spring in his step that he can now wander about alive. But as he gets his feet under the table, is Billy’s certainty that Todd is out from under his skin as convincing to himself as it should be?
