Southwark Cathedral has conducted a memorial for a beloved stray cat that wandered into the building in 2008 and lived there for 12 years. The dean of the cathedral produced a live stream of the service of thanksgiving in memory of Doorkins Magnificat, who died last month.

Woman in labour stops to vote 

A pregnant woman has stopped to cast her vote in the US election on her way to hospital to give birth. The woman was in labour when she asked her husband to pull over so she could fulfil her civic duty. A poll worker at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office in Orlando said: “We are very, very busy, but when something like that happens it just makes our day.”

Man arrested after throwing banknotes

A man who showered pedestrians with banknotes has been arrested on drugs charges. Police say the 29-year-old, named Bo, was “in a trance” as he threw the a large number of notes from his 30th floor apartment in Chongqing, south-western China. He ended up throwing away 200,000 renminbi - approximately £23,000.
