Susanna Reid had terrifying nightmares about coronavirus during lockdown at the height of the health crisis.
The newsreader reported on the virus daily on Good Morning Britain when the UK first went into lockdown in March.
Susanna, like many of us, was scared about what was happening around the world with Covid-19, so it’s understandable that she would end up dreaming about it at some point.
The 49-year-old told The Telegraph’s Stella magazine: ‘It was an anxious time for everybody, but those early days were very frightening.
‘I started to have really vivid, terrifying nightmares where I would wake up screaming and crying even though I couldn’t quite remember what the nightmares were.’
She and Piers Morgan stayed on the air until the summer to bring people the latest updates.
One particularly emotional episode saw them read out the names of the NHS workers who had died of the virus.
In March the broadcaster had to self-isolate after someone in her household showed symptoms.
Piers also took time away from the show after coming down with a ‘mild symptom’ which prompted him to get tested for coronavirus, which came back negative.
The presenters went on their summer break as normal and returned to the studio earlier this month.
Their Good Morning Britain colleague Kate Garraway has been having a difficult time as her husband Derek Draper remains in hospital battling complications from the virus.
Derek, now free of coronavirus, has been in hospital for six months and is in intensive care in a miminum state of consciousness.
Kate, who is also being supported by her I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! camp mate Caitlyn Jenner, had to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary over FaceTime.
