Police seize more than 320,000 used condoms

Police in Vietnam have seized more than 320,000 used condoms that were to be illegally resold as new to unsuspecting customers. The contraceptives were washed, reshaped with wooden dildos and then repackaged before being resold. Local media said it was not clear how many of the recycled condoms had already been sold. The owner said she had received $0.17 (£0.13) for every kilogram of recycled condoms she produced.

Airline sells bar carts from retiring 747s

An Australian airline is giving aviation fans the chance to own a fully stocked bar cart. Qantas said the 1,000 carts, which were removed from 747s before they were flown to California for their retirement, are stocked with the sort of goodies sold in the air, including champagne, Australian wines, Tim Tam cookies, pyjamas and Qantas First Class Sheridan throw pillows.

Rail workers made man cave under Grand Central Terminal

Three railroad workers have been suspended after they transformed a storage room under New York’s Grand Central Terminal into an unauthorised “man cave” with a television, refrigerator, microwave and futon couch. A Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesman said that while “many a New Yorker has fantasized about kicking back with a cold beer in a prime piece of Manhattan real estate… few would have the chutzpah to commandeer a secret room beneath Grand Central Terminal”.
