Piers Morgan was left devastated as he found out that his good pal Ant McPartlin has decided he no longer wants a copy of his book.
The Good Morning Britain host, 55, was seen venting to the nation on Tuesday morning’s broadcast, as he revealed a copy of his book The Insider, owned by Ant, was thrown out onto the street.
Piers addressed pictures published in The Sun of Ant’s ex-wife Lisa Armstrong throwing out stuff belonging to her former husband that he reportedly no longer wants.
The presenter noticed his book among the unwanted items and admitted he was feeling ‘really hurt’ over seeing it tossed aside.
Piers said: ‘I always thought I was friends with Ant McPartlin left his unwanted stuff on the street… it’s stuff Ant didn’t want back and Lisa didn’t want to keep.
‘His Newcastle shirts, I wouldn’t want to keep them either,’ Piers joked, before continuing: ‘There’s all these things and in the middle of it, there’s a copy of my book, The Insider.’
‘There was outrage in my dressing room this morning,’ Susanna Reid teased, as Piers carried on his tirade.
‘That’s my book, lying in the street this morning. Lisa, have the common decency… at least put it somewhere where some newspaper can’t photograph it lying in the street,’ he argued.
Mocking her co-star, Charlotte Hawkins quipped: ‘And still no-one took it?’ as Piers joked himself: ‘You literally can’t give it away.’
‘I don’t know why, but it’s really hurt me this morning.’
Piers revealed later in the show that Lisa had contacted him to say she was ‘so sorry’ and that she wasn’t the one to ditch his book, as she hadn’t even been there.
Ant was married to ex-wife Lisa for 11 years, but their divorce was finalised in April earlier this year – two years after they confirmed news they were separating in January 2018.
The Britain’s Got Talent host is now in a relationship with girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett, who he has been dating for two years.
Ant and Anne-Marie went public with their relationship six months after his split from Lisa and previously speaking about their romance, Ant gushed over how happy the duo make each other.
He said: ‘[Anne-Marie] is the most wonderful, true woman. And the way we are and when people see us together… They’ll see how honest and kind and happy we make each other.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
