Kaley Cuoco has opened up about how she tries to approach work in the same way as her late co-star John Ritter
The pair famously starred together in hit series 8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter until the actor died suddenly on September 11, 2003.
And in a new interview with Emmy Magazine, The Big Bang Theory actress revealed what she learnt while working with the comedy legend.
The 34-year-old explained: ‘He showed me what it meant to be a leader. He was so inclusive. Nobody was beneath him. He said hello to everyone and shook everyone’s hand.
‘Every single day, it would take extra hours to shoot and get things done because John would be outside talking to fans and signing autographs.’
And star has taken the same approach while starring and producing upcoming HBO Max drama, The Flight Attendant.
She explained: ‘I am the example, just like John was the example. If I’m not ten minutes early, then I feel like I’m late.
‘You need to treat the people around you with respect. Having a wonderful heart is more important than being famous.’
The actress recently paid a touching tribute to late actor John Ritter on the 17th anniversary of his death.
Kaley took time to remember the star as she posted a snap of the pair together on Instagram.
She captioned the sweet picture: ‘Can’t believe you have been gone 17 years… thank you for continuing to me make me laugh every single day.’
John, who played her onscreen dad Paul, died aged 54 after feeling unwell on set.
He was taken to hospital where he later died suddenly of an undiagnosed aortic dissection, which was mistaken for a heart attack.
The ABC comedy took a break for two months as the cast were left devastated by his unexpected death.
When it returned they filmed scenes incorporating his death, where his character popped out for milk and never returned.
The show, which ran from 2002 – 2005, was based on a book called 8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter: And Other Tips From A Beleaguered Father (Not That Any Of Them Work) by W. Bruce Cameron.
