It turns out the Emmy Awards 2020 were the perfect excuse for Jennifer Aniston to give us all yet another Friends reunion that we so crave.
The actress, 51, turned the annual awards ceremony into her very own Friends get together, as she was seen hanging out at her home with best pal Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow.
This year, the Emmys went virtual and Jen had a real task on her hands as she helped Jimmy Kimmel to hose the opening of the ceremony on Sunday night, before rushing home ahead of her category being announced.
Jen was nominated for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in The Morning Show and while she may have lost out to fellow star Zendaya – she won the prize for giving us all the Friends nostalgia.
Appearing via video link after making it home, Jen, who is best known for playing Rachel Green in the hit series, was joined by Courtney (Monica Geller) and Lisa (Phoebe Buffay).
The girls had us all giggling away, as Jen joked she’d been ‘roommates with Courteney since 1994’ and Lisa walked into shot, seemingly oblivious she was on live TV.
Jimmy had crossed over to Jen at her LA home via video, with Courteney gate-crashing the pair’s chat and telling the comedian: ‘Of course I’m here. We live together.’
‘Yeah we’ve been roommates since 1994,’ Jen teased, as Lisa walked into shot, peered into the camera and joked: ‘Hey, is this live TV?’
Jimmy then asked Lisa if she lived with Jen too, with her quipping: ‘Yeah, where else would I live?’
Jason Bateman then randomly popped up behind the girls, with Jimmy joking: ‘I didn’t know Ross was there too?’ as Jennifer teased Jason was staying at her home too, at least until he ‘goes off to college’.
Jen, Courteney and Lisa together onscreen will no doubt get fans all excited for the upcoming Friends reunion show.
It was scheduled to take place back in May on HBO Max, but was forced to be pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic and it sounds like we could be waiting for some time, as the show is hoping to have a live audience and current restrictions are making that difficult.
Previously speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the show’s co-creator Marta Kauffman explained the reunion special needs a live audience to work, but social distancing measures in place are making it tough.
‘We all want it to happen; we just have to wait until it is safe,’ she stated.
‘This is a show that is not scripted, but this is the way the show works – we are going to need a live audience.
‘Even if we socially distance that live audience, it really is a huge part of what Friends is… We can not do it without them.’
