Kirin Kotecha makes a resounding return to Emmerdale, and it’s safe to say that he’s got sinister intentions, as he makes Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) life a living hell.
It was revealed last month that Kirin was returning to the village, with actor Rish Shah taking over from Adam Fielding — who portrayed the character between 2014 and 2016.
The way in which Kirin would make his return remained a mystery, but given that Charity is attempting to adopt his biological son, Johnny, viewers suspected that the young man’s comeback would be in relation to this story.
New spoilers have confirmed that this is very much the case.
Kirin corners a shocked Priya (Fiona Wade) outside Holdgate, and demands some cash. Priya is having none of it, and thus reveals that she will call the police if he doesn’t leave.
The young man later attempts to win her over once more, only this time he asks about Johnny. Priya refuses to allow him to see his son, and reveals that Charity is adopting him.
Kirin therefore becomes hellbent on stopping Charity, and — with Priya refusing to pay up — he demands money from the Woolpack landlady instead.
Charity is taken aback, as Kirin reveals that he’ll make it impossible for her to adopt Johnny if she doesn’t give him what he wants.
As a result, Charity agrees to his demands, and therefore gives him the money.
However, problems ensue when Kirin realises that it’s less than the agreed upon amount, and thus he demands the full price — giving her until nightfall to acquire the cash.
Chas (Lucy Pargeter) finds Paddy (Dominic Brunt) deep in thought about Kirin, and he’s intent on phoning the police. However, Charity pleads with him not to, and he eventually agrees to keep shtum.
What’s more, he gives Charity access to the safe so that she can acquire the funds she needs to pay Kirin off.
Charity turns up to meet Kirin in the agreed upon location — again with less money than agreed — and things turn nasty as a result.
However, they’re taken aback when Tracy (Amy Walsh) shows up — and the police aren’t far behind her!
