Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) is set to receive a blast from the past in Emmerdale in the form of Ben (Simon Lennon), who wastes little time in reminding the mainstay of what happened between them years ago.
Liv (Isobel Steele) notices that Aaron has been spending quite a bit of time up at Thr Hide, and therefore she sets out to find out why.
She puts two and two together when she spots him staring at Ben, and Al (Michael Wildman) later introduces the two men to one another, but there’s evidently some tension.
On Chas’ (Lucy Pargeter) advice, Aaron heads up to HOP for a kayaking session, but there’s animosity between he and Ben — which prompts him to ask what’s wrong.
Ben, shocked Aaron has forgotten, accuses him of having a short memory, and later, he reminds him of how he used to bully him at school for being gay.
Aaron is horrified, as the memories come flooding back, and he later confides in Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).
He does what what he can to make amends — apologising to Ben over the way he treated him — and before long, another date is set in motion.
For the first time in quite some time, happiness could be within Aaron’s grasp.
