Ellen DeGeneres hinted she would talk about the recent scandal surrounding her talk show while announcing its release date.
Over the past few months, The Ellen Show was accused of having a ‘toxic work environment’ seeing dozens of employers come forward with complaints.
And now, the host of the programme has confirmed she will address the accusations in a statement in a press statement on Tuesday.
”I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio. And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it,’ she said as it was revealed the show would be making it’s return September 21.
The statement also revealed that Ellen will be joined by the guest DJ Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who recently threw his support behind the 62-year-old.
He told Us Magazine: ‘We can’t speak too much legally about it, but I’ll say this, there’s been love.’
‘Obviously there’s some things to address, but from my standpoint and from countless others, there’s been love,’ he pressed.
‘I’ll just leave it at that until there’s a time where we can address more publicly. There’s been love and there’ll will continue to be love.’
The Ellen Show has faced a number of allegations, including an accusation of sexual misconduct against a producer, as well as intimidation and racism backstage.
And while the likes of Mariah Carey has expressed how she felt ‘extremely uncomfortable’ when interviewed by Ellen, several other celebrities have stood by the star’s side.
Katy Perry, Kevin Hart and Diane Keaton have all spoken out in support of the show, as well as Ellen’s wife Portia de Rossi.
Sharing the worlds ‘I stand by Ellen,’ on Instagram, the proud wife added in her caption: ‘To all our fans….we see you. Thank you for your support. #stopbotattacks. #IStandWithEllenDeGeneres #IStandByEllen #IstandByEllenDeGeneres.’
Ellen has previously expressed that she had no idea what was going on behind the scenes, and is currently working with WarnerMedia to get to the bottom of the claims.
‘I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect,’ she said according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show will return for season 18 September 21.
