Martin Fowler (James Bye) is set to be left in a dilemma when Stacey (Lacey Turner) unexpectedly returns just as he has entered a relationship with her best friend Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) in EastEnders. Will seeing his wife again bring back old feelings? And is Ruby right to be worried?
Lacey explained: Stacey thinks that it’s not that serious, he’s there for the money. She definitely doesn’t think it’s going to last forever.
‘It’s a bit of a joke to her. And she would take Martin back tomorrow if he said he wanted to come back. I think she’s still very much in love with him. Which is so sad. Poor Stacey!
‘She’s back and she’s not really taking any rubbish at the moment. She’s living her life, she’s looking after her kids, she’s there for her family and she’s trying to make the best of a bad situation with Ruby and Martin and just tackle it the best that she can.
‘She’s a feisty one! She’s back and she’s back with a bit of fire in her.’
And that is something that Martin has always loved about Stacey – so is she sticking around?
Stacey meets with Martin, who’s not best pleased with her. Stacey tells him she isn’t planning on staying in Walford long. Ruby visits Stacey telling her that she has to stay in Walford so Martin can see the kids.
Stacey tells Kat she’s worried her mum will never forgive her for leaving – Kat reminds her she’s had a tough time beating cancer and loosing the man she loved as well as losing her daughter, a reminder of all the things Stacey has missed.
Ruby asks Martin if he still has feelings for Stacey – now’s the time to confess, he reassures her that nothing has changed. After a heated chat with Stacey, Martin insists on going away that night with Ruby they deserve a break.
But is Martin being honest with himself?
