Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause had fans well and truly in her corner as she made her debut on Dancing With The Stars for the show’s 29th season.
The latest series of the US dancing competition kicked off on Monday night, with Chrishelle making her dance floor debut, alongside the likes of Tiger King star Carole Baskin, rapper Nelly and Catfish’s Nev Schulman.
Chrishell is partnered with professional dancer Gleb Savchenko and their first performance was the tango to Pink’s hit Raise Your Glass.
Tyra Banks, who is hosting Dancing With The Stars for the first time this season, described their dance as ‘sexy’, but it failed to leave the judges all hot and flustered.
Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough – who is replacing Len Goodman this series – and Bruno Tonioli gave Chrishell a total score of just 13 points and fans weren’t having it.
They took to Twitter in their droves to have the reality star’s back, as they slammed the panel for their harsh marking and prayed that Chrishell would make it through the series’ first elimination.
‘Wow they were hard on Chrishell! #DWTS,’ tweeted one fan, while another agreed: ‘Chrishell deserved a higher score. #DWTS.’
‘Chrishell & Gleb were hella underscored, she better stay,’ vented one viewer.
‘They were so hard on our Chrishell though. #DWTS,’ posted one more.
One fan joked: ‘As if Chrishell doesn’t have enough to deal with, Derek Hough calls her pigeon toed on live TV.’
‘If Carole Baskin gets higher than Chrishell I will leave this earth #DWTS,’ teased one viewer, before the Big Cats Rescue owner took to the floor and fell just short of Chrishell’s total, after receiving 11 points from the panel.
Ahead of her Dancing With The Stars debut, Chrishell joked that she decided to sign up for the series, as she has ‘nothing else to lose’ following her divorce from Justin Hartley.
‘I feel equal parts excited and completely terrified. It has been a crazy journey and I would have never imagined this is where I would end up,’ she told Entertainment Tonight.
‘Listen, I’ve already fallen flat on my face in front of America already, so I really got that out of the way. I don’t have anything else to lose, so it’s only going up from here!’
She added: ‘I’m hoping this will be a new chapter, something positive. An experience I can kinda throw myself into and just kind of learn a new skill and have fun at the same time. I have no dance experience, so it’s going to at least be a laugh for all of us.’
DWTS will air its first elimination next week on Tuesday September 22 on ABC over in the US.
