Adele gave fans a rare glimpse into her friendship with Nicole Richie in a belated birthday message and frankly, their friendship is one which every woman needs.

The Rolling In The Deep singer was a few days late with her social media post as The Simple Life star Nicole turned 39 on September 21.

But it was worth the wait with Adele sharing a hilarious video of Nicole crouching down in a kitchen and scaring the singer as she came round in the corner.

Other photos include Adele, 32, taking a selfie while Nicole posed from behind a glass, the pair being photobombed by a giraffe as Adele looks terrified and several photos of them dressed up to the nines for swanky parties.

In the caption, Adele wrote: ‘Happy belated birthday to my daily dose of grace @nicolerichie I admire you and love you so much.

‘You are the epitome of self preservation, self love and absolute savagery! You are so so cherished by so many angel girl! Keep making us laugh babes, we adore you to the moon and back ♥️.’

She then added the quote: ‘“I’m actually furious that now she knows that”.’

Nicole replied in the comments: ‘“For fucks sake”,’ in reference to Adele’s brilliant reaction after being scared in the kitchen.

It appears their friendship has blossomed in recent years with Adele spending most of her time living in California with her young son Angelo.

However, the Someone Like You singer seems to have spent lockdown at home in the UK with reports claiming she was spotted on a date with rapper Skepta on Friday.

The musicians, who were first rumoured to be dating last year, headed to virtual reality centre OTHERWORLD in east London alongside grime MC Jammer.

An insider told Metro.co.uk: ‘Adele looked great and they seemed happy being out together in the public view.

‘They were in the middle of the bar having their drinks while they were getting ready for the VR experience. I think they must have played the zombie game because they were shouting and screaming.’

Another eyewitness said that Adele was ‘down to earth’ and was happy to chat to others on the night out.

Adele was first linked to Skepta last September following her split from husband Simon Konecki after three years of marriage.
