‘Why would I want to a hurt a child?’ was the chilling response a serial killer gave Piers Morgan in a new Netflix documentary.

Alejandro ‘Alex’ Henriquez, who is also known as The Bronx Serial Killer, was charged with the killing three people (two of them children) from 1989 to 1990 in New York’s Bronx district.

The series titled, Serial Killer with Piers Morgan originally aired on ITV in 2018 and saw the host gain access to maximum security prisons, coming face-to-face with some of the most notorious convicted killers in America.

And despite being sentenced to 75 years in prison, Henriquez has claimed his innocence to this day.

He was 31 at the time.

His first victim, Shamiro Bello, was 14-years-old when she was raped and bludgeoned to death in July 1989.

And just 11 months later, he killed Lisa Ann Rodriquez, 21, whose body was found in his wife’s sweat pants.

In the documentary, Piers asks Henriquez the question of whether he is capable of hurting a child.

But his response to the question was rather chilling.

Rather than just answering, Henriquez appeared to really think about it as he paused and said: ‘Am I capable of hurting a child? No, why would I want to hurt a child?’

Speaking about Henriquez’s response in the documentary, FBI profiler James R. Fitzgerald said: ‘Most people would say “No!”.

‘He hesitated for a fraction of a second and his first reply was, ‘Am I capable of hurting a child?’

‘It puts the question back to Piers, in so many words, and then, of course, he denies it plays off that sort of scenario from there. But why not come out and say ‘No, I would never do that.’

‘With a psychopath, the lying syntaxes have to become aligned with one another so that the proper lie comes out at the proper time,’ he added.

‘Psychopaths like control – they don’t want to be controlled, they want to control others. To them, it makes sense because it is what got them this far in life is sort of a successful method of surviving.’

Serial Killer with Piers Morgan is now available to watch on Netflix
