Three producers are thought to have been axed from Ellen Show after the series was hit by toxic claims backstage.
A number of former employees have made allegations of behaviour backstage, including accounts of intimidation and racism, in a Buzzfeed expose .
And, following the accusations coming to light, the Hollywood Reporter states executive producers Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Norman have left the daytime show.
The publication reports Ellen, 62, confirmed the staff overhaul in a Zoom chat with staff, announcing there was an internal investigation underway.
Discussing the claims she’s ‘not nice’, she reportedly told staff: ‘I’m a multi-layered person, and I try to be the best person I can be and try to learn from my mistakes.
‘I care about each and every one of you. I am grateful for each and every one of you. I feel like I’ve kind of let the ball drop a bit because I’m focused on the show, I go in and I do the show, and I’ve just let everybody to do their jobs – to run different departments.
‘And it just became a well-oiled machine, and I think that is the problem.’
She added: ‘It’s not a machine. This is people. These are human beings that are working hard every single day to put this together. This show would not be what it is without all of you.’
A spokesperson for Warner Brothers told THR they had ‘parted ways’ with executive producers Glavin and Leman, as well as co-executive producer Norman.
Leman’s lawyer , Michael Plonsker, blasted the decision in a statement, telling the site: ‘The fact that a deeply flawed BuzzFeed article has led to the termination of an innocent man – a popular figure and a creative force behind the Ellen show and a string of other projects produced with Ellen – is shocking.
‘Kevin is devastated by being scapegoated and is not yet ready to comment.’
The Ellen Show has been at the centre of accusations in recent weeks, following claims that staff members were mistreated by producers, sharing counts of racism and intimidation.
After the recent allegations came to light, presenter Ellen penned an apology, where she said she takes ‘full responsibility’ for the working environment, as her name is the brand.
She claimed she had no idea what had gone on behind-the-scenes and is now working with WarnerMedia to get rid of the ‘toxic’ environment.
The host also received public support from the likes of Katy Perry, Octavia Spencer, Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Hart following the accusations, with many heaping praise on the star.
