This Is Us season 5 will tackle the coronavirus pandemic when it returns.
Dan Fogelman, the creator of the acclaimed NBC family drama, announced the upcoming storyline as he shared details of the new chapter in response to a series of questions from a fan.
‘Yes on Covid,’ Fogelman wrote. ‘We’ve decided to attack things head on. Very proud of @ThisIsUsWriters.’
Sadly though, he didn’t lift the lid on any spoilers on how the Pearson family will be affected by Covid-19.
Fogelman went onto reveal that there is no set date for production on This Is Us resuming.
He also added that he doesn’t know when new episodes will air.
Meanwhile, Sterling K Brown revealed what’s on the horizon for Randall and Kevin.
Speaking at Deadline’s Contenders Television: The Nominees all-day event, he teased: ‘The relationship has been complicated from the beginning.
‘They will continue like a yo-yo — will come apart and together, apart and together. I think by the time we reach that point in the future, there are other things on their minds that they are able to focus on to put aside whatever differences they have.
‘But for the next two or however many seasons we’re around, I think you’ll continue to see these brothers fray and then resolve, fray and resolve.’
This Is Us airs on NBC in the US.
