Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp has had his Twitter account hacked.

On Saturday afternoon, a number of worrying messages and racial slurs appeared on the young actor’s social media feed, seeing fans question what was going on.

However, shortly after the tweets were shared, the 15-year-old took to his Instagram account where he reassured his followers the messages were not coming from him.

In a message on his story, Noah confirmed: ‘Someone hacked my Twitter it’s not me I’m trying to get back and I’ll let you know when I do.’

‘Just beat the f*** out of @noah_schnapp and stole his phone #JOBS,’ one concerning message read, while another stated: ‘Me and @noah_schnapps smoking a spliff’.

They have since been removed from his feed along with messages including the N-word, sexual content, and talk of suicide.

The Will Byers star has a huge following on social media including TikTok where he’ll shared numerous videos with his fans.

Talking about his internet fame to Variety in a recent interview, Noah said: ‘I love being online because I feel like you can just be yourself and it’s so easy to open up.

‘I just love social media because it’s just on a screen with all these people. You don’t see anyone so it’s easy to open up and have fun and not worry about what other people think.’

Noah will be appearing in the next season of Stranger Things and confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter.

Here he said of an upcoming shoot: ‘I look forward to this so much. It’s my favourite thing in the world, and I love working with these people. It’s like a family.

‘I read the first four scripts and they are amazing. I can’t wait to see where they go with the rest of the season.’

Stranger Things is available to stream now on Netflix.
