Stephen Mulhern has dismissed comparisons between his new game show Rolling In It and another ITV show Tipping Point.
The presenter revealed a moment during filming where comedian Joel Dommett took shots at Tipping Point, hosted by Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard.
Rolling In It sees members of the public team up with a celebrity to roll a coin in a bid to win money.
While Stephen admits it may draw comparisons from viewers, his show is its own beast.
‘Tipping Point is a great show, it does exceptionally well,’ the former CITV star explained.
‘I can hear the people online going, “Oh it’s like Tipping Point” but I don’t think you can compare it. Ben’s coin on his show drops, ours rolls, apart from that they’re different.
‘Joel at one point shouted, “This is better than that Tipping Point”…you can fill in the spaces.’
The Britain’s Got More Talent star also teased that there are plenty of outtakes in the ITV vault featuring potty-mouthed moments from the celebrity guests.
Things would get pretty tense during the game with some people turning the air blue to let off steam.
Asked if anyone stood out for being particularly sweary, Stephen shared: ‘If we could show you the outtakes! There’s a lot of effing this and…b*****d. It’s a lot.
‘There’s one time where you hear “That coin is a…”, you know you if say that word you never work again. But it was said and it was on tape and it’s in the vault.
‘I can’t tell you who it was. Okay, Jimmy Carr. There’s other ones who you need to keep an eye out for. Joe Swash, Swash comes up trumps.’
Despite all that Rolling In It will definitely be a family friendly show, but expect to be on the edge of your seat.
Things would get so intense for Stephen he would feel ‘sick’ on set.
‘The only time I’ve felt as sick, if you like, is when Holly Steele was on Britain’s Got Talent, the ltitle girl who started crying and started saying she wanted to sing again. It was like being in slow motion and they had to move the news. It was terrible.
‘But honestly there’s moment where I go, I do feel sick because they could blow it and it’s all by pure luck.’
Rolling In It starts August 8 at 6.25pm on ITV.
