Simon Cowell will be missing from the Britain’s Got Talent’s judges’ panel for the first time in the show’s history, according to new reports.
The media mogul has been a mainstay as the head judge on the beloved panel show, but coronavirus has thrown filming into chaos.
As a result, it’s been claimed that due to him needing to remain in the US for America’s Got Talent, he will miss out on the semi-finals.
‘Simon is gutted to not be physically there for the semi- finals, but he’ll be there virtually, casting an eye over the talent and imparting his views in every show,’ a source told The Sun.
‘He can keep an eye on David Walliams to make sure he doesn’t get too big for his boots while Simon is in the States.’
It’s been claimed that Simon’s presence will still be felt though, and he will be dialled in via videolink.
Britain’s Got Talent’s return has been confirmed by ITV to return in the Autumn, after coronavirus halted its typical early spring spot before the live shows began.
The team will appear for a one off catch up show, before heading into the semi-finals, which will ‘run weekly on a Saturday night during the autumn’.
However it’s likely that there’ll be some changes made to accommodate social distancing measures, with the future of the typical live studio audience unknown.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Simon’s reps for comment.
Britain’s Got Talent returns later this year on ITV.
