Louis CK made a ‘surprise’ appearance at Dave Chappelle’s latest comedy show, as his comeback trundles on.

The 52-year-old’s career was sidelined in 2017, when multiple women came forward to accuse the comedian of sexual misconduct.

However, after his return to stand-up and the release of his latest special, it seems Louis’s career is back on track, as he was welcomed on stage by his longtime friend Chappelle.

In a photo taken at Chappelle’s ‘Summer Camp’ shows in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Louis was seen standing in the middle of the stage, flanked by Chappelle, Michelle Wolf, Mo Amer and DJ Trauma.

Chappelle, 46, has been hosting a series of shows, called Dave Chappelle & Friends: An Intimate Socially Distanced Affair, in his hometown of Ohio, with only himself confirmed on the bill before each show.

Photographer Mathieu Bitton posted the picture to Instagram, writing: ‘Tonight’s surprise guest in the cornfield: Louis CK. @davechappelle @michelleisawolf @realmoamer @djtrauma #ChappelleSummerCamp @leicacamerausa #LeicaSL2 #leftarmperiod.’

DJ Trauma reposted the picture and added: ‘#chappellesummercamp #louisck came thru and rocked with us!!! #whereintheworldisdjtrauma The only show in show business!!!’

Fans in the comments section begged for the shows to have been recorded, while some celebrated Louis’s appearance.

For fans of both comics, Louis’s appearance at the show won’t be too much of a shock, as he has long been a friend of Chappelle’s.

The comedian most recently defended Louis in his Netflix comedy special Sticks and Stones, saying: ‘Louis C.K. was a very good friend of mine before he died in that terrible masturbation accident. … He didn’t do anything you can call the police for. I dare you to try.

‘Now he’s coming back playing comedy clubs and they’re acting like if he’s able to do that that’s going to hurt women. What the f*** is your agenda, ladies?’

Back in 2017, five women came forward accusing Louis of masturbating either in front of them or during phone conversations.

The Louie star later admitted the allegations were true and said he was ‘remorseful’ of his actions.

Since his return to the comedy scene, the star has not avoided the misconduct scandal in his material, choosing to joke about how the allegations briefly affected his career.

In a stand-up special released earlier this year on his website, Louis said: ‘How was your last couple of years? How was 2018 and 2019 for you guys? Anybody else get in global amounts of trouble.

‘I learned a lot. I learned how to eat alone in a restaurant with people giving me the finger from across the room. I thought I should leave the nation. Thought it was a good idea. Would have left the planet if they had another one of those.’

He continued: I like jerking off, I don’t like being alone, that’s all I can tell you. I get lonely, it’s just sad. I like company. I like to share. I’m good at it, too. If you’re good at juggling, you wouldn’t do it alone in the dark. You’d gather folks and amaze them.’

He then seemed to educate his audience on the rules of consent, adding: ‘If you want to do it with someone else, you need to ask first. But if they say yes, you still don’t get to go “Woo!” and charge ahead.

‘You need to check in often, I guess that’s what I’d say. It’s not always clear how people feel,’ he adds in a separate joke about consent. Men are taught to make sure the woman is okay. The thing is, women know how to seem okay when they’re not okay.’

Later in the show, Louis made the comparison between sexual assault and slavery, saying: ‘It’s kind of like a Negro spiritual.

‘It’s sort of similar. So to assume that she likes it is like if they heard slaves singing in the field and you’re like, “Hey, they’re having a good time out there”.’
