Stacey Fowler is set to make a dramatic return to EastEnders.
Viewers watched on in shock as she was forced to flee Albert Square last year, after attacking Phil Mitchell over the head with a wrench in a tense showdown – as actress Lacey Turner went on maternity leave.
And, with the soap returning to screens very soon, it has now been confirmed that it won’t be long before Stacey is back home with her family.
While mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) will no doubt be thrilled by the idea that her daughter is back under her roof, some other Walford residents might not be too happy with the comeback.
We’re looking at you, Martin (James Bye) and Ruby (Louisa Lytton).
Soon after Stacey declared their marriage was over, Martin struck up a relationship with her best friend, Ruby.
But will her return spell the end of their budding romance?
Lacey – who welcomed baby daughter Dusty last year – was recently spotted making her way to the set once filming resumed, with Jessie Wallace (Kat Slater) also preparing for a comeback.
The soap favourite previously revealed her thoughts on reprising the role after taking time off, explaining she will be missing her adorable baby girl.
‘I think it will be hard to go back to work as much as I’m looking forward to working again. I will miss Dusty because you get so used to spending all day every day together. She’s great company,’ she told the Sun.
‘Being a mother is by far the hardest job I have ever done in my life. But it’s also the best thing in the world. It has changed me because it makes you see everything differently.
‘It highlights what’s important and what isn’t! I think I’m much more chilled out now I’m a mother.’
‘Somehow we manage to juggle everything and everyone and yet we still feel guilty for certain things. I think until you have done it you can’t understand how challenging it is yet so rewarding.’
We can’t wait to have Stacey (and Lacey) back in Walford.
