Covid-19 survivors may lose their immunity to the virus within months, according to new research. Scientists who analysed the immune response of more than 90 patients and healthcare workers at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS foundation trust found that while 60% of people had a “potent” antibody response at the height of their battle with the virus, only 17% retained it three months later.
The first federal execution in the US for more than 17 years is set to go ahead in Indiana today. An official report has concluded that Iranian soldiers shot down a Ukrainian passenger jet because they forgot to calibrate their radar systems and mistakenly identified the aircraft as a threat. The Civil Aviation Organisation in Tehran said that the “human error” led to the accidental attack on the airliner in January, killing all 176 passengers and crew.
