Chi Chi DeVayne has filmed herself undergoing dialysis in hospital while she receives treatment following a suspected kidney failure.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race star was admitted to hospital after falling ill earlier this month and had a biopsy this week.
In her latest Instagram story post, Chi Chi is seen lying in her hospital bed with IV drips coming out of her arm.
She then informed her followers there was ‘a little blood coming out’ before giving a big sigh. ‘Dialysis,’ she captioned the clip alongside a cry face emoji.
Chi Chi had earlier shared an update after undergoing a biopsy on Tuesday and admitted she was ‘drugged out’.
‘I told them I need some of that s**t they put me on so I can take it home,’ she said in an Instagram video.
‘It went by smooth, they injected me with some stuff before I went in and I didn’t feel a thing. I’m out of it right now so… I had to lay on my back for six hours.
‘I’m ready to get back to doing what I love. Thanks so much to all the people who donated and wished me well and wanna see me do well. I been fighting y’all.’
She continued: ‘I’m gonna fight to survive of course but I’ve been fighting too mentally, because this is a new experience for me. But I got it under control. I’m okay, I’m gonna be okay.’
In 2018, Chi Chi – real name Zavion Davenport – was diagnosed with scleroderma, an uncommon condition that results in hard, thickened areas of skin and sometimes problems with internal organs and blood vessels.
Scleroderma is caused by the immune system attacking the connective tissue under the skin and around internal organs and blood vessels.
This causes scarring and thickening of the tissue in these areas. Fans have been rallying around Chi Chi since her recent health announcement, with many sending her money via Venmo and PayPal to help pay her medical bills.
When the TV star was rushed to hospital this month, it was feared she had contracted coronavirus but fortunately tested negative for the disease.
