Piers Morgan couldn’t look more pleased if he tried as he returned to Good Morning Britain this morning feeling primped and proper.
The TV host and co-star Susanna Reid had both headed straight to the hair salons this weekend as part of ‘Super Saturday’ – a countrywide easing of lockdown rules that meant salons, pubs and restaurants could now reopen.
After previously getting his hair chopped by his wife Celia, Piers admitted he felt he was in safer hands back at his swanky barbers’ this weekend as he teased a new do.
And we’re thrilled to say it’s… almost exactly like the one he had before, just a little bit shorter.
But he’s loving it, so we’re happy for him.
‘It was like we had come out of some zombie apocalypse movie,’ Piers explained of the experience.
‘Then I had my hair cut. It was quite unnerving, I walked in and was greeted by a young lady firing a gun at my head, but actually all of it is an interesting experience.
‘The guy from the cafe had the visors on and gloves. The people in the hairdressers they have their gear on.’
On his return to his seat for this week’s first instalment of GMB, Piers admitted he did face one awkward run-in thanks to the lockdown easing – Rishi Sunak, who was eating a meal in the same restaurant as him on Saturday.
Thankfully, he thought better of sending him the bill for his meal, and instead opted to avoid him as best he could… which was probably wise.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
