After weeks of speculation, Kairi Sane looks to be officially done with WWE.

The Pirate Princess made her final appearance on Raw last night as she was attacked backstage by Bayley, which distracted Asuka enough to earn Sasha Banks a count-out victory and the Raw Women’s Championship.

Following the show, Kairi took to social media to address her exit, which comes as she is reportedly keen to return to Japan to be with her husband.

She tweeted: ‘My time in the NXT & WWE locker rooms was incredible. Everyone was kind, funny, & talented, so every day was full of happiness.

‘Also, I was saved by the supportive staff behind the scenes. I will forever love & respect all these professionals I had the pleasure of working with.’

During her time with WWE and NXT, Kairi won the Women’s Tag Team Titles with Asuka, as well as the NXT Women’s Championship and the 2017 Mae Young Classic.

In 2018, she was also presented with both the female and overall competitor of the year prizes at the NXT Year-End Awards, while the following year she and Asuka were given the women’s tag team prize at the WWE Year-End Awards.

On Monday night, Kairi shared a collage of her achievements, and thanked the fans for their “constant, warm support’.

She added: ‘I was able to accomplish so much in the last three years, but it wasn’t because of my ability or my strength.

‘It was because of all of the constant, warm support from the fans. I am so thankful I could meet you all.

‘Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Kairi Sane’

WWE itself all but confirmed her departure, as they revealed she was ‘preparing to leave’.

The company added: ‘WWE sends its best wishes to Kairi Sane as she sets sail on her next voyage!’
