Good Morning Britain’s Adil Ray was left a little lost for words after he appeared to accidentally hint that he might be on the Strictly Come Dancing line-up this year.
The host left Ranvir Singh stunned as he hinted at having a connection to this year’s series.
With the pair teasing an interview with Strictly pro Neil Jones on Friday’s show, Adil said: ‘I’ve heard a rumour they’re all in the same hotel together, that’s what I’ve been told.’
Ranvir immediately pulled him up on it, asking: ‘Do you know from an insider? Is there something we need to know?’
‘I’m not saying anything!’ Adil laughed.
As Ranvir was left shocked, Adil went on to say: ‘You’ve kind of got me there,’ attempting to move the conversation on to tease their interview with Shaggy.
Not having any of it, Ranvir said: ‘You’re trying to distract me with Shaggy aren’t you? All anyone’s thinking now is if Adil said he’s on Strictly.’
Keeping tight-lipped, Adil simply said: ‘Let’s move on.’
This year’s line-up for Strictly has been kept under wraps so far, although it’s been reported the show is keen to get BBC Radio 1 presenter Clara Amfo on board.
‘Clara is now a familiar BBC face and producers want her,’ a source revealed. ‘The show wants to cast a diverse range of talent.’
The insider continued to the Mirror that while Clara has not yet committed to Strictly, she would ‘light up the series’ if she accepted the invitation.
Meanwhile, rumours have also surrounded presenter Lorraine Kelly, with GMB’s Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard fuelling the fire amid the star’s break from her show.
‘Ben is peddling all sorts of rumours this morning,’ Kate began on a recent episode.
‘He says that she’s gone into a Strictly bubble. You know how they’re talking about couples having to go into bubbles because of the social distancing and the problems for Strictly Come Dancing this year?’
Speaking to Christine Lampard, Kate continued: ‘Lorraine is rumoured to be one of them, Christine. Would you advise her to do it, Christine?’
Christine replied: ‘I guess I would. The bubble thing before would be quite intense, I’m not sure how I’d cope with that. It’s stressful enough doing the show.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
