Good Girls season three: Who is in the cast of the Netflix drama and how did season 2 end?

There’s an old saying that well-behaved women rarely make history, and Netflix helped prove this further when they started streaming NBC show Good Girls.

The show follows three mothers who turn to a life of crime out of desperation… but eventually get into the swing of things.

The third season of Good Girls is coming to Netflix today, Sunday 26 July, so let’s refresh our memories on what happened at the end of season two, and take a look at who’s coming back for more trouble in season three…

Christina Hendricks as Beth Boland

After finding out her husband had strayed, ruined their finances and they risked losing everything, Beth, a mother of four, convinced her two friends to hold up a supermarket and make off with the money.

Beth over the last couple of seasons has developed a taste for the criminal lifestyle, though, ending up in an entanglement with Rio, a shady crook.

Christina Hendricks, 45, plays Beth, and she will be familiar to viewers after appearing as Joan Holloway in Mad Men.

Throughout her career, Hendricks has received six Emmy nominations, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Ruby is Beth’s best friend, a waitress who has struggled for years trying to pay for her daughter Sara’s kidney disease and medical treatments.

Protecting her daughter was her initial reason for getting involved in the crimes, but now she struggles with her loyalty to Beth and her husband, a police officer who has come under scrutiny for helping hide evidence that would compromise his wife.

Ruby is played by 50-year-old comedian Retta, who is best known for playing the role of ‘Treat Yo’self’ pioneer Donna on Parks and Recreation.

How did Good Girls season 2 end?

The main plotlines which fans will be keen to revisit with season three include whether Rio will survive after being shot by Beth.

Rio kidnapped both Beth and FBI Agent Turner, instructing Beth to get rid of the man pursuing them once and for all. Refusing to go that far, Beth turned the gun on her complicated-criminal bae, shooting him several times.

Other cliffhangers left from season two include the pressure intensifying for Ruby and Stanley, who are close to being discovered as being involved in the crimes and subsequently getting rid of evidence to protect themselves.

Meanwhile, Annie wants to get closer to her new boyfriend Noah, but is struggling to understand his true intentions as it was revealed he actually works alongside FBI Agent Turner.
