Another 48 people have died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus, bringing the UK death toll up to 44,798.
The new figure, released on Saturday by the Department of Health and Social Care, covers fatalities in all settings, including hospitals, care homes and the wider community.
Meanwhile, self-employed workers have just one day left to apply for a Government grant of up to £7,500, via the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme.
Recent figures reveal there have already been 2.7 million claims worth more than £7.7 billion – but 800,000 people eligible for the first grant still hadn’t applied as of Monday, according to Money Saving Expert.
MSE founder Martin Lewis has warned the public time is running fast, saying: ‘After Monday – no go, can’t happen.’
The scheme was created to help the millions of self-employed people whose income has been hit by the coronavirus crisis.
