Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) has suffered a huge amount at the hands of evil husband Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) through their marriage in Coronation Street but viewers are set to be horrified as she considers forgiving him and taking him back when he promises that things will change in the future.
While we know that Geoff is not capable of becoming a redeemed man after he seemed to take pleasure in making Yasmeen suffer, Yasmeen is torn when he tries to drop the charges against her and tells her that he still loves her and forgives her.
After speaking to him on the phone, Yasmeen hears that Geoff has gone into the police station to try and retract his statement and get the charges thrown out. And while he doesn’t have the power to collapse the case as that remains a decision for the CPS, Yasmeen wonders if it’s a sign that he really does want to make amends.
Don’t do it Yasmeen!
As the Street reels from Geoff’s latest move, Alya (Sair Khan) knows full well what his motive is – and so she is all the more gutted when she hears in her gran’s voice that she is contemplating giving Geoff another chance.
Is Yasmeen about end up right back in the same nightmare she may have been on the brink of escaping? With Geoff using manipulative language to make Yasmeen feel he is doing a grand gesture by forgiving her, Yasmeen is confused. He assures her that when they are back together, things will be totally different.
It seems that she is starting to believe him and, while we are desperate to see Yasmeen out and free, is she about to be released from one prison back into another one?
Or will she see through Geoff’s lies?
