Manchester United ace Andreas Pereira hit back at some angry fans on Twitter after the midfielder was subjected to online abuse.
The 24-year-old has had a breakthrough season at Old Trafford, making 39 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.
Despite waiting so long for his chance at the Theatre of Dreams and emerging from the academy, Pereira is not the most popular figure with supporters.
The Brazilian took much of the flak for United’s lack of creativity in the first half of the season and he’s lost his spot in recent weeks following the arrival of Bruno Fernandes and the return of Paul Pogba for injury.
Nevertheless, the abuse has persisted and Pereira felt obliged to reply to two disgruntled fans on Twitter.
After complaining about the servers on video game Call of Duty, Pereira was taunted by one supporter that said they were ‘performing like how you do on the pitch’.
Pereira responded by saying: ‘Nobody cares what u tweet’.
The fact that he replied caught the attention of other supporters, who sensed an opportunity to rile him further.
One fan replied saying: ‘Too loud for a player that’s played in 8 different positions and served up nothing in any of them’.
Pereira once again replied saying: ‘Nobody cares what u tweet either…smh [shaking my head] hope this helps’.
The midfielder followed his response up with a series of face-palm emojis.
