Liam Gallagher has revealed he once almost set Noel’s house on fire as he joins Peter Crouch, Maya Jama and Alex Horne for Save Our Summer.

The former Oasis star chatted about visiting his brother’s house in Ibiza back in the day before their infamous feud, admitting he had a major mishap with a lit cigarette.

‘Our kid had a house there once, years ago, which I nearly set fire to cause they leant it me,’ he says on the show. As you do.

He adds of the chaotic night: ‘So I get there, I’m getting a bit giddy and I’ve gone, “this is nuts innit”, got the drinks out, got a cig out, and it was like right on the sea, and I lit up and then I flicked it, it’s gone down the cliff…and the next minute there’s loads of fire.

‘We’ve not even unpacked our bags so I’m there running out with loads of pots and pans just launching at it because you couldn’t go down to it, I’d only been there about 10 minutes…’

Oh Liam.

With fans of the pair constantly longing for a reunion, Liam’s made it clear he’s up for it – but Noel might be a different story.

‘I’m ready to go man, love is in the air,’ he admitted, before Peter asked him if there’s actually a chance of it in the future.

‘I don’t know, you’d have to ask him mate,’ the Shockwave hitmaker said. ‘I told you my bags are packed. I’m ready to go man but … I think he’s uh…I don’t know what going on in his world.’

We can but dream.

‘Part of the show is me doing the ultimate retirement,’ Peter explained.

He went on: ‘I was so scared about retiring from football. You hear stories about people struggling and sitting there not having much to do, watching Loose Women.

‘And listen, I love Loose Women, but I didn’t want to sit there and have not a lot to do. So I took on a few things, and the things I’ve taken on are only things I enjoy doing.’

Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer airs Saturdays at 9.15pm on BBC1
