Aaron Chalmers has made waves in the world of mixed martial arts – and now WWE is in his cross-hairs.

It’s been a while since the former Geordie Shore star began to make his name in combat sports, and some very interesting Twitter exchanges on Friday night suggested another big career move is on the horizon.

After appearing on the WWE UK official Twitter account to promote this weekend’s Backlash show, Bellator fighter Aaron hinted at the surprising development.

He responded with the smirking face emoji when a follower asked if WWE was his eventual goal, but the most interesting moment came when he was asked about relocating to the US.

He replied: ‘I’m gonna go @NXTUK first’

Not surprisingly, this tweet sparked a lot of excitable replies, with Aaron himself – who named AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan as dream opponents – keeping up the emoji game to add fuel to the fire.

Asked directly if he’s signed with WWE’s UK brand – which is run by legendary superstar Shawn Michaels – the 33-year-old star simply posted a thinking face.
What does it all mean?!

Regardless of whether a deal has been signed or is on the way, his comments caught the eye of several NXT UK talent who had plenty to say.

Former NXT UK Tag Team champion Wolfgang weighed in, as he tweeted: ‘”I’m gonna do this…” “I’m gonna do that…”

‘You’ll get in line, empty the bins and run the ropes before you get a sniff at an NXTUK ring.’

Not to be put down, Aaron quipped: ‘See if you say this when your face to face… My punches can really ko people braaa (sic)’

NXT UK rising star Xia Brookside admitted Aaron joining the show ‘would be great to see’, and Wolfgang’s Gallus partner Joe Coffey simply said ‘please do’.

Crossover stars are nothing new in the world of wrestling, and the world is currently waiting to see if and when the much hyped Tyson Fury versus Drew McIntyre match will happen.

Both men have made it clear they want to face off for the WWE Championship, and it could be a matter of time before they lock up in the ring.
